DESCRIPTION:35 Years of EU-Vietnam cooperation\n\n\nSince 1990\, the European Union and Vietnam have built a partnership rooted in trust\, shared values\, and a clear commitment to progress\, cooperating across trade\, sustainable development\, innovation\, governance\, and global security. \nBuilding on this strong foundation\, the first EU-Vietnam Global Gateway Business and Investment Forum aims to facilitate high-level dialogues and create new avenues for shared prosperity. \nHigh-level guests\, including EU Commissioners Jozef Síkela (DG for International Partnerships)\, Vice President of the European Investment Bank Nicola Beer\, and Vietnamese government officials alongside key business leaders from both regions\, will come together to focus on strategic sectors that drive mutual growth for the EU and Vietnam. \n \nFostering economic growth and jobs through the Global Gateway\nAs Vietnam continues to modernise its economy\, it is undertaking significant development initiatives\, including administrative and regulatory reforms as well as major investments in the energy and transport sectors. These efforts are pivotal in supporting the twin green and digital transition\, alongside substantial decarbonisation processes towards its Net Zero target for 2050. Through the Global Gateway Strategy\, the EU is committed to supporting Vietnam by mobilising high-quality investments and creating market opportunities to strengthen sustainable infrastructure\, promote innovation\, and deliver an enabling environment for long-term growth and employment. \nSupporting energy and transport investments for Vietnam’s green and digital transition\nIn line with the strategic orientation to elevate the Global Gateway from inception to widespread impact\, the EU Delegation to Vietnam is organising a Global Gateway business and investment forum. This initiative aims to fully engage the European and Vietnamese public and private sectors\, establishing a platform for business collaboration and enhancing the effectiveness of Global Gateway investments and its comprehensive toolbox.
