The training course is one activity under the Component 2- Capacity Building Programme of the Project “Accelerating energy efficiency in large industries through energy management systems, system optimisation and the promotion and adoption of energy efficiency in SMEs” (IEEP project), funded by the European Union.

Attending the opening of the training course were Ms. Pham Thi Nga, National Technical Advisor of IEEP Project; Mr. Riyaz Papar and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang – two experienced UNIDO training experts.

The participants are technical experts/staff of industrial enterprises and experts/consultants related to the energy management sector.

In the opening remark, Ms. Pham Thi Nga emphasised that the goal of the training course is to equip the end-users with the knowledge and tools to assess energy used in industrial steam systems, identify opportunities and implement solutions to optimise industrial steam systems.

The learners will also be familiarised with the functions of evaluation and optimisation software by the US Department of Energy, thereby identifying opportunities to improve performance leading to the whole steam system optimisation. Furthermore, the training course introduces systematic improvement methods, methods to quantify energy consumed, and cost savings from these improvements.

For consultants, the goal of the training course is to form a team of experts equipped with knowledge, skills, tools and software to provide consulting services to businesses, including technical support for businesses and training for business staff on building and implementing steam system optimization projects; Conduct steam system optimization training for businesses on steam system assessment, identification, construction, and implementation of optimization projects and measures.

A course with similar content will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from March 25-26, 2024 for participants from the Southern part of Vietnam.
