Hanoi, November 22, 2023 – The management unit of energy efficiency technical assistance projects(the Project Management Unit)- Ministry of Industry and Trade(MOIT)  in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization ( UNIDO) organize the awareness workshop on energy management systems(EnMS) and system optimisation adoption with the aim to raise the awareness on EnMS and system optimisation adoption of industrial enterprises(IEs) and to introduce IEEP’s training and technical assistance programmes

Attending the workshop are representatives from the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, Department of Energy Efficiency& Sustainable Development- MOIT, UNIDO’s IEEP project and about 70 delegates from agencies and organizations including Departments of Industry and Trade, Industry Promotion Centers of Northern cities/provinces, Business Associations and especially a large number of IEs.

The workshop provided important and useful information related to regulations on energy efficiency(EE), energy management in IEs; the technical support and trainings provided by IEEP project to IEs to adopt EE solutions; financial support for EE investment projects provided by Vietnam Scaling up Energy Efficiency Project – VSUEE, funded by the World Bank;  EnMS in line with ISO 50001-issues and opportunities; system optimisation – maximising  energy savings as well as experience sharing on successful EnMS of Vietnam Paper Corporation.

The workshop is also an opportunity for related organisations, units and businesses to raise their awareness on EnMS and system optimisation, and identify the benefits, the techical support and trainings they would receive when participating in the project.

A similar workshop for the Southern cities/provinces will be held in HCMC on November 28, 2023.
