On December 12, 2023, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Institute of Standards and Quality (VSQI) in collaboration with the IEEP Project organized a workshop to disseminate Vietnamese Standards (TCVN) for Energy Management Systems (EnMS).

The objective of the workshop is to raise the awareness and promote the adoption of EnMS standards TCVN ISO 50001:2019 of the enterprises and organizations within the framework of the IEEP project.

Attending the workshop were 60 delegates from the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development – Ministry of Industry and Trade; United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO); designated industrial enterprises, industrial associations, Consultation Companies, Energy Efficiency Service Providers (EESPs) and Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), and certification and accreditation bodies.

At the workshop, the delegates were given presentations on an overview of the energy management standard system; TCVN ISO 50001:2019 on requirements for EnMS; TCVN ISO 50003:2023 on requirements for EnMS certification organizations; Evaluation process for EnMS certification in line with TCVN ISO 50001:2019; Experiences sharing on establishment of EnMS in line with ISO 50001 of Pho Yen Mechanical JSC. and Prime Yen Binh JSC. The workshop participants   also actively join in Q&A/discussion sessions related to TCVN and EnMS.

The workshop provided useful information on TCVN for EnMS, requirements and benefits of adopting EnMS; thereby facilitating and promoting the application of energy management systems in organizations and businesses in Vietnam; towards achieving the national common goal of economical and efficient use of energy.
