The European Commission has officially launched the Global Gateway Early-Stage Investment Mechanism, a new Call for Proposals designed to provide financial support to EU companies in the early stages of project conception.

This global pilot initiative targets key sectors including transport, artificial intelligence (AI), energy, and urban development, and aims to provide upstream, targeted support to European companies as they begin engaging with partner countries, including Viet Nam.

Funding support

The mechanism plans to award around 20–30 small grants, ranging from approximately EUR 0.5 to 2 million per grant, through a competitive process. The call is structured into five lots, covering different sectors and regions.

Information session & Q&A

All relevant information, including eligibility criteria and application guidance, is available via the official link (to be inserted). An online information session for interested applicants will take place on 20 January 2026.

To ensure transparency and equal treatment, questions regarding the call will be answered exclusively through the channels indicated in the “Guidelines for Applicants.”
