Offering technical training on energy management system to energy management experts and staff

From 26/02 to 01/03 in Hanoi and from 04/03 to 08/03/2024 in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organize the expert training programme on building and operating an energy management system (EnMS) in line with ISO 50001 standards for 130 experts and staff related to energy management sector.

This 5 day training programme is built with the goal of equipping the learners with knowledge, understanding and tools to build and implement EnMS in line with ISO 50001: 2018 standard.

The first 2 days of the training programme are reserved for enterprise energy managers, focusing on providing instructions on implementing all steps in the EnMS cycle, i.e. Plan– Do – Check – Actwhile the next 3 days are dedicated to energy experts, zooming in practicing the tools to implement the first step- EnMS planning, which is also the first module of the expert training programmes to be implemented in the period from February 2024 to March 2025.

Under the guidance of Mr. Richard Morrison and Mr. Stefan Walta – the two skillful international experts from UNIDO, the participants demonstrate the confidence that they would be able to apply the knowledge accumulated from the training course in the process of building and implementing a suitable EnMS at their working places. The learners also express their full appreciation to the content, training methodologies and the overall organisation of the training programme.

Ms. Laura Lindoro, Program Manager, Development Cooperation Department, European Union Delegation to Vietnam attended the training programme in Hanoi. She emphasized that this training is an important activity contributing to achieving the targeted number of key enterprises applying the EnMS of the National Programme on Energy Efficiency.

This training programme is an activity under Component 2 – Capacity building programme of the Project on “Accelerating energy efficiency in large industries through energy management systems, system optimisation and the promotion and adoption of energy efficiency in SMEs“ (IEEP Project) funded by the European Union.
