Training workshop on ISO 50015 for measurement and verification of organizational energy performance

On May 12 and 13, 2025, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), organized a training course on “Measurement and Verification of Organizational Energy Performance – ISO 50015.”

The training is part of the EU-funded project “Accelerating Energy Efficiency in Large Industries through Energy Management Systems, System Optimization, and the Promotion and Adoption of Energy Efficiency in SMEs” (IEEP), implemented under the Sustainable Energy Transition Programme (SETP).

This two-day workshop aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen the capacity of professionals involved in measuring, verifying, and validating energy performance in alignment with the ISO 50015 international standard. Thirty participants attended the training, representing industrial promotion centers, conformity certification bodies, academic institutions, and consulting firms specializing in energy and environmental services from Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, and Da Nang.

Led by international experts from UNIDO, the workshop provided an overview of the fundamental principles of measurement and verification, along with practical tools, planning methodologies, and data analysis techniques. These resources equip organizations and enterprises with the ability to conduct accurate and reliable verification of energy performance.

Through hands-on exercises and analysis of real-world case studies, participants gained practical knowledge and skills in implementing energy performance measurement and verification in line with ISO 50015 standards.

The training contributes to the development of a skilled workforce capable of deploying effective energy management systems. This initiative supports enterprises in implementing energy-efficient solutions, reducing operational costs, and enhancing competitiveness in the context of growing global integration. Moreover, it plays a vital role in promoting Vietnam’s sustainable energy transition, thereby contributing to environmental protection, energy security, and long-term national development.
