As announced on the EU Delegation to Vietnam’s official fanpage:
The first Global Gateway flagship project in Vietnam that has reached a loan agreement as part of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), the extension of the Tri An Hydropower Plant (Dong Nai) will be financed by Team Europe, including 1.6 million EUR in technical assistance from the EU.

The information was also officially posted on the official Facebook fanpage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi.
Together with the EU and other European partners Germany is financing the extension of Tri An Hydropower Plant. Tri An Hydropower Plant with an installed capacity of 400 MW is located on the Đồng Nai River, about 65 kilometres northeast of Hồ Chí Minh City.
On behalf of the German Federal Government representatives of the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) signed a loan agreement of 65 mio. EUR together with Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The extension project will add two 100 MW turbine-generator units, increasing total installed capacity to 600 MW. The total cost of the project is estimated at 134 Mio. EUR.
