Recently in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Institute of Standards and Quality(VSQI) in collaboration with the IEEP Project organised a dissemination workshop on national standards on Energy Management Systems to raise the awareness and promote the application of ISO 50001:2019 energy management system standards at organizations and enterprises in Vietnam.
The workshop was attended by representatives of VSQI(Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality); Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations; industrial enterprises, business associations, certification organisations, energy management consulting agencies, etc.
At the workshop, delegates heard reports on an overview of the standard system for energy management; ISO 50001:2019-Requirements for energy management systems; Energy management system certification assessment process in accordance to ISO 50001:2019; Experience sharing with industrial enterprises when applying ISO 50001:2019 by the Energy Saving Research and Development Center (Enerteam) and Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) .
The workshop provided the industrial enterprises with useful information on national standards for EnMS, requirements and benefits of adopting EnMS; thereby facilitating and promoting the application of energy management systems in organizations and businesses in Vietnam; towards achieving the national common goal of economical and efficient use of energy.
This dissemination workshop is an activity under the Project “Accelerating energy efficiency in large industries through energy management systems, system optimisation and the promotion and adoption of energy efficiency in SMEs” (IEEP) funded by the European Union.
