UNIDO provides expertise training on industrial steam system optimisation

Within the framework of IEEP project, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to organize the training course for experts on industrial steam system optimisation from 25 to 28 June 2024 in Hanoi.

The training course is phase 2 of the training programme on industrial steam system, which is one activity under the Component 2- Capacity Building Programme of the Project “Accelerating energy efficiency in large industries through energy management systems, system optimisation and the promotion and adoption of energy efficiency in SMEs” (IEEP project) implemented by UNIDO, with the assistance of the European Union.

Attending the opening of the training course were Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan, National Project Manager – IEEP Project, Ms. Pham Thi Nga, National Technical Advisor – IEEP Project; Mr. Riyaz Papar, UNIDO training expert, and 38 trainees who are energy auditors/ technical experts from energy service providers and experts/consultants related to energy efficiency and industrial steam system sectors nation-wide.

The training course is an opportunity for the participants to consolidate the knowledge gained from phase 1 and practice instruments to assess the energy use in industrial steam systems.

The training course also includes 2 on-site training days (26 and 27 June) at the host plants (HABECO in Me Linh, Hanoi and Xuong Giang paper company in Bac Giang) to investigate and measure in boiler plants to assess the energy use in industrial steam system, identify opportunities and solutions to optimise industrial steam systems.
